We recently adopted Rocky, a Mealy Amazon - Rocky has quickly become a feathered family member and has adjusted really well, everyone would be very proud of him. You can tell that his previous owner cared very much about him because of Rocky's gentleness and wellness. Rocky has brought so much joy into our home and is loved by everyone. He loves going outdoors for his baths and has even taken to spreading his wings for a "pit" wash.

I just want to say thank you to for allowing Rocky to be placed into our home. We plan to continue to keep him happy and safe for all of his days. We are forever grateful

Maggie is doing well. She says 'hello' and 'what are you doing?' She plays great and is exploring her surroundings.

I took her to the vet and she's in great shape, except a little thin. Probably just from the stress of her new surroundings, so we'll just keep an eye on her weight. She plays great and doesn't seem to be scared of my little dog Pheebee, who is dying to be able to play with Maggie and is mad that I won't let her.

Just wanted to drop you a line & tell you how much we love Sebastian! He has settled in wonderfully! He says "peek a boo", wolf whistles, says "whatcha doin'" & "gimmee kiss". He also has several whistles that sound like "gootchie gootchie goo"! He is always coming up w/ something new. He loves being out of his cage & loves to be scratched & rubbed. He has had no problem adjusting to the dogs & cat, & is mesmerized by the fish! His favorite spot is looking out our big bay window & "talking" to the wild birds at the feeder. What a character! We are so glad he is a part of our family, thank you for allowing us to bring him home!

Our family adopted Ozzie, the Half Moon Conure just the other day. He has adapted to his new environment nicely and even gets along with our dog. He's been playing peekaboo with him. I think he talks to the dog more than he talks to us!! We have a large cage for him that he seems to enjoy, he's eating and drinking well and stepping up to everyone without attempting to bite.

I just wanted to let you know how well he's doing because I know that the first few days in a new environment can be quite an adjustment. Actually, I think he's enjoying the peace and quiet of his new home.

Thanks again for allowing us to add Ozzie to our family. We look forward to enjoying him for years to come.

We just wanted to let you know that Deuce has adjusted well and is doing fine. This of course is the first day of Deuce's new beginning. He is the perfect little guy, we couldn't have asked for more. This morning as I was getting breakfast ready, as a big surprise Deuce started making the microwave beeping sound so much so I thought I had left food in the microwave. Then later in the day Deuce started to "ring" like a phone, I was in the kitchen getting him a snack and noticed that as soon as I left the room Deuce started to make the sound of a ringing phone and he would proceed to answer with a "hello". This little guy made me smile all day long. Oh, and whenever I approached him I'd say "Hi Baby" and to my surprise later in the day Deuce started saying it back as soon as I approached....what a guy, we just LOVE him! He has to be one of the most loving creatures....we are very lucky to have him as part of our family.

Again, thank you so much for giving us this opportunity; we can't thank you enough. Adopting a bird from the sanctuary is definitely so much better then even thinking about buying from a pet store or a breeder. We truly hope that good people give these wonderful birds a second chance .....everyone deserves a second chance and this includes our little feathered friends!

Bijou Bijou is doing very well too! Her wing feathers are growing in and she's flying short distances . . . mostly to get to me! I was prepared for a very loud bird . . . and she is loud . . . but I enjoy it as it means she's happy and she's really not as loud as I thought she'd be! She mostly does it for a few minutes in the morning and in the evening along with much feather flapping and hopping about! Every now and then though she'll let out a loud shout if I don't check in often enough! I can't tell you how much I enjoy her and how much I love her! It amazes me every day how her personality fits so well with mine (or should that be the other way round?). Anyway, she's doing great! She's talking quite a bit although I can't understand everything she's saying. She says "whatcha doin?" and "pretty Bijou" though which is so cute in her little girl voice.
